Last Thursday, 13th March, 2025, eleven lovely ladies from the Bathurst Ladies Probus Club caught the Bathurst Bullet to attend the Premier's Gala Concert at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour. After arriving at Central, we caught the Metro to Darling Harbour and then had a short walk to Holy Basil, where we had a delicious and beautifully presented lunch of Thai food.
At the conclusion of lunch, we walked back to the Exhibition Centre and wandered among the many interesting stands at the Seniors Festival Expo. We also took advantage of the "freebies" on offer such as socks, cans of Glen 20, confectionery as well as interesting information on lifestyle and travel options to name but a few. It was soon time for the Concert to begin so we made our way across to the Convention Centre, found our excellent seats and were entertained for the next two hours by the likes of Todd McKenney, Rob Mills, Prinnie Stevens and Tarryn Stokes.Todd McKenney was his usual brilliant, flamboyant self, dazzling the audience with his sequined costumes and perfectly choreographed renditions from "The Boy From OZ". Tarryn Stokes and Todd performed a wonderful duet of "Arthur's Theme", while Prinnie Stevens dazzled the audience with her performance of "Chains" and "I'm Every Woman". My favourite performer was Rob Mills, who was very smooth and glided across the stage supported by a fantastic group of dancers. All too soon the Concert concluded, so we made our way back to Central Station to catch the Bullet home. Many thanks to Pauline Harvey for organising the fantastic day. - Merryn Gunstan
