PROBUS originated in the United Kingdom in 1965 with the view of providing regular opportunities for retirees to keep their minds active, expand their interests and to enjoy the fellowship of new friends.
The first Probus Clubs formed in the South Pacific area were New Zealand in 1974, Australia in 1976 and The Philippines in 2007. Probus has filled a need for today's active retirees, so much so that the growth has been phenomenal. It is now a world-wide movement in 23 countries.

We have a Book Exchange operating at our meetings & hold raffles, with funds going towards Mother's Day, Father's Day & Christmas presents for members.
Members are entitled to participate in all club activities, with insurance cover while doing so. Attractive travel insurance is also available for domestic and international travel. Also available is the Probus "Active Retirees" Magazine & Member's Benefit Scheme.
DONATED TEDDIES GROUP
A group of members meet once a month to assemble and complete teddies that have been knitted during the month. The teddies are then donated to Blacktown Ambulance, Police Dept. and "Children of Women in Domestic Violence" to help children who are traumatized by accident, domestic violence etc. They meet at Toongabbie Sports & Bowling Club on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Over the past 20 years they have donated over 16,000 teddies.
