2022

Friday 28 October: Our last trip of the year saw us armed with our Gold/ATHop cards for the 11am Ferry to Pine Harbour. A scenic harbour crossing landed us at the Marina in time for lunch at Pepper Jack's. Some of us strolled to the water's edge to enjoy the sea air and tranquil surroundings before enjoying Auckland Harbour again on the return trip. A Public transport experience!.

Friday 23 September. Bus trip to Hamilton Gardens was an amazing day out with plenty of interest and variety for everyone. An enjoyable lunch at the cafe and a rain free  day made for a memorable outing. Photo of Egyptian Garden taken by Kevin

Friday 26 August: A showery morning saw a small group of 16 set off by bus for a day in Hobsonville.  We arrived in time for coffee at Catalina Bay then a walk around the wharf area. A few went further afield to check out the old airforce homes, dense apartment development and a fairy glade!  We enjoyed a pub lunch at 'Little Creatures' brewery A big thankyou to Keith, our driver, who manoeuvred the bus further into the construction site, to save us a climb back up the hill for the trip back!

Friday 22 July: 22 of us half filled the bus to Ryders Cinema for a movie and Roast lunch. The lucky arrival of a fine clear day made the trip very enjoyable and 'Edie' the film starring Sheila Hancock, inspired us all on to greater things - we wish.

June outing coincided with our new Matariki Holiday so no trip planned

Friday 27 May; A morning of mini golf in Onehunga ($9.00 pp). Meet in the car park behind the Ellerslie War Memorial Hall at 10am for Car Pool. We will come back to Ellerslie for lunch at the Coffee Club.

Friday 29 April: A bus trip to Puhoi was informative and enjoyable in beautiful autumn sunshine. The bus dropped us near the museum where we learned about the origins of the early Bohemian immigrants, popped into the historic church then meandered or bussed through the village to Puhoi Pub for lunch. We also took in the Cheese Factory. Although out of season for cheese production, some made the most of the range of cheeses to buy and a welcome coffee or ice-cream. Thanks Hilary, for organising a great day out.

Friday 25 March: Our planned visit to Auckland Botanical Gardens did not go ahead.

Friday 25 February: A dozen or so of us gathered for a picnic lunch at Maureen's. Delicious finger food was shared under the shady trees of her beautiful garden. Thanks for hosting us, Maureen
