Paddys Market: Thursday 29 May |
|
| On Thursday, the 29th of May, we set off for Paddy's Market for the day. At Castle Hill station we met Pam there. 14, and two more at Central, she was aware! On the light rail to Central we did hop, and alighted at Paddys, where we would shop. The first shop surprised even me, when Anne C hugged the owner with glee! It was her brother, she tried to explain, 'cause he was selling nothing mundane! His shop was full of costumes, all kinds and bright; some for day, but most for night. There were tiny, tiny bra tops with sequins and glitter, which sent us ladies all in a jitter. We needed coffee to relax a bit, so we did, and it was lovely to sit. We then took off for serious shop; outlets, souvenirs and food for over an hour, non stop! For lunch it was Doolies with a great selection of wraps, buns and noodles; too many to mention. Even though the day was gloomy outside, we were protected from the elements inside. Then we all decided to head off home, so off to the light rail we did roam. On all modes of transport, most managed a seat; some held on and just stood on their feet. It was great to meet others and have a chat. We talked about this, and we talked about that. So thank you, Pam, for a lovely day. It was a great day out in every way. Thanks to our poet laureate, J.H! |

Opal Card Day: Tuesday 25 February |

| Our first Opal Card Day was to the Art Gallery. Morning tea was at the Sydney Eye Hospital, before walking across The Domain to the Art Gallery. Our guide, Christine showed us art depicting Australia and painting styles through the ages. An unexpected delight was Art Express, which is the artwork presented for their HSC, by Year 12 art students from 2024. Such talent!! | |
