Bowral Day Trip |
|
43 ladies took off, bright and early for our day trip to Bowral, under the guidance of our driver Russell from Nomad Coaches. After a surprisingly quick trip to the Southern Highlands, we stopped for morning tea at the Mittagong Information Centre, where we enjoyed a delicious morning tea (thank you to the ladies of our Executive Team!) Our next stop was Corbett Gardens where we saw the highlight of our trip....the tulips! The tulips had suffered slightly this year from the week of 30° plus temperatures,as well as the hailstorm the night before we arrived. However the colours of the tulips were amazing, as you can see from the pictures below. When we had seen enough of the tulips, and taken enough pictures, our members walked down to Dirty Janes, stopping on the way for lunch and a bit of shopping. Our bus driver picked us up at Dirty Janes and drove us to see the statue of Mary Poppins. At the Mary Poppins statue, some of our "young at heart" members had their photo taken with the statue. We stopped for afternoon tea at Raw and Wild. This was a very relaxing stop, where we enjoyed carrot cake or pear bread with a tea or a coffee. Our final stop before heading home was at the Berkelouw Book Barn. This is a quaint barn where you can buy a wine, or tea and coffe, whilst you peruse their range of books. |
