Probus turns 40!

The first Probus club in the South Pacific was established 40 years ago. Today, there are 171,500 members across Australia and New Zealand. We spoke to some of them about their involvement in the growth of Probus.

30 years for Takapuna

The Takapuna Combined Probus Club celebrated its 30th anniversary in May at a Luncheon held at Knightsbridge.  

 

Life membership at Richmond

At the last meeting in May, President of the Probus Club of Richmond Alan Roberts proposed to members that Robin Cook be made a Life Member.

A meeting with a difference

Central Hawke’s Bay Probus Club recently headed north for and overnight trip to Gisborne. Although the club offers several day trips throughout the year, this was the first over-nighter for many years. 

Long service

Moira and Trevor Jarman of Henderson Falls Combined Probus Club were recently presented with Long Service Pins by President Barbara Cantle.

 

Life members two and three

The second and third life members of Henderson Ladies Probus Club were appointed at the club’s Annual General Meeting in March 2012.

Wedding days

Inspired by an exhibition of wedding dresses at The National Museum, Te Papa Waterloo Probus Club mounted its own display of wedding dresses, going-away outfits and wedding memorabilia. 

 

Double decade

The oldest club of its kind in the Hutt Valley, the Stokes Valley Probus Club celebrated reaching its double decade milestone birthday recently.
