A bake-off unfolds

Members of Wellington Combined Probus Club came together for food, coffee, and interesting conversations.

Recently, Wellington Combined Probus gathered four members of their Hot Stuff Baking Group to have a bake-off.

The item on the menu was Spanakopita, a Greek savoury dish comprised of spinach and feta cheese wrapped in small parcels of filo pastry.

The preparation of this dish took rather longer than the advertised 12–15-minute baking time, however the members trusted the process agreeing that ‘the proof is in the eating’.

This adage turned out to have validity as the dish was absolutely delicious once it was finished.

The bake off was concluded with a coffee and interesting conversations to follow.
