Visit to Carrick Hill - November 2023

On Thursday 23rd November 2023 Club members had a guided tour of Carrck Hill, followed by a very pleasant lunch at Alma Hotel in Norwood.

The guide who conducted the tour was very knowledgeable explaining about the private home of Sir Edward and Lady Ursula Hayward and how they built the house and gardens. We were all enthralled as our guide led us through a very different world and lifestyle in a period that was part of our lives. A must see place.

A pictorial reecord of the visit to Carrick Hill is shown below.

Newland Seniors Forum - November 2023

On Tuesday 21st November 2023 President Angela Stuart and Vice President Denis Falland ran a table for the Probus Club at the Newland Seniors Forum organised by the State Member for the seat of Newland, Ms Olivia Savvas.

Short talks were given by Office for the Ageing, Seniors Card and Business Services, Technology for the Ageing and Disability (SA), Energy Advisory Service, Arthritis SA, City of Tea Tree Gully and SA Cancer Council. information provided by these bodies was interesting and relevent to attendees at the forum.

Our club was one of seven probus clubs in our area invited to have a table. Many people approached our table to see what we did and we are hopeful me may generate interest for prospective members.

A pictorial record of the event is shown below.
