INTEREST GROUPS

The club has several authorised interest groups that undertake activities throughout the year.  The Organisers of these groups mintain attendance sheets for each activity.  Financial members are covered by the Probus South Pacific's Personal Accident Insurance whilst on authorised activity including direct travel to and from activities and meetings.  When you come to a meeting, you will hear about all activities and details will also be published in the Club's newsletter each month.

SCRABBLE GROUP

This group meets at 2pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Members take turn to host the activity in their home, with afternoon tea provided.                                      

  

 

GAMES GROUP

There are two games days each month:

  • On the second Friday of each month, we play Canasta and Mahjong starting at 1:30pm and afternoon tea is provided.  Each month, the activity is held at a member's home.
  • On the fourth Wednesday of each month, at 1pm, we play games outside e.g. Boule, Croquet, and Fiker.  We then move indoors to play board games and card games.  Afternoon tea is provided and each month the activity is held at a member's home.
   

 

WALKING GROUP

The walkers normally meet every Friday at the Springwood Aquatic Centre at 10:30am.  One Friday each month there is a longer walk to an interesting location, sometimes out of the Blue Mountains area.

   

 

BOOK CLUB

The dates for this group vary depending on the length of the book being read.  When we meet to review a book, it is often in a restaurant or a member's home.

   

 

DINING OUT GROUP

This is a very popular group.  Where possible, we try to go out once a month to either lunch, dinner or morning tea.  We try to keep the locations within the Blue Mountains area, but that is not always possible.  Travel and cost are always a consideration.

 

 

DAY TRIPS AND TOURS

We organise day trips and tours for members and guests.  We sometimes join up with other Probus Clubs so that we can provide a wider range of opportunities.  You can find more information available here.                                      

  

 

GALLERY  GROUP

This group started in October 2024.  The aim is to visit art galleries in different locations around the Blue Mountains and Sydney.  We travel to the galleries by train, bus or carand the excursion may include morning tea and lunch.
