25th Anniversary Celebrations

On Monday 22 May 2023 the Russley Probus Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the Christchurch Golf Club.

Sixty-eight members attended along with three special guests: Margaret Drake, Probus District Chairperson; and David Drake, Rotary District Probus Chairperson; and Brian LeVaillant, President of the Christchurch Rotary Club, our sponsoring Rotary Club back in 1998.

The formalities were presided over by our incumbent President, Helen McCaul. Various groups were introduced by Helen. These included Founding Members; Past Presidents, and Life Members.

Margaret Drake presented a certificate commemorating our twenty-five years, and Brian Le Vaillant proposed a toast to the club. President Helen also gave a history of the club. Roger Murdoch, our Founding President cut the Anniversary Cake.

Members were treated to a delicious two-course buffet lunch, finishing with a slice of the anniversary cake.

The occasion was also marked by the unveiling of a book compiled by Keith Hitchings and professionally produced, detailing the club’s first twenty-five years.

It was a very happy occasion with much laughter, talk and reminiscing.

Well done Russley Probus for this milestone achievement and good luck for the future.
