December 2024

Tony Dawkins was the host for our ‘end of year’ wind-up for a small group of us.  Medical reasons (including the re-emergence of Covid) plus other appointments prevented a number of our scribes from attending.  Joan had been extremely busy, helping Tony to provide far more food than we could possibly have consumed even if everyone had attended.  We had a most enjoyable and relaxing afternoon sitting on Tony’s waterside verandah, eating, watching a family of Swans with cygnets, the passing of the ‘Pirate Boat’, the ‘Dolphin Watch’ cruise boats and several other small vessels.  We did remember to share stories under the topic of ‘Cause and Effect’.  As usual this prompted lively discussion ranging from snow-bound British trains; hold-ups on the freeway; a dispute with Insurance providers, through to medical interventions (or lack of them).

Thank you to Joan for her suggestion of lunch and providing most of it, and Tony for hosting and adding yet more delicious snacks.
