At our General monthly meetings we are privileged to have a guest speaker who is happy to come along and give a talk on their particular vocation or special interest. Whether it be travel, environmental issues, charities, political, professions, sports, writers, adventurers etc, we can be sure that whatever their choice of subject is, we will always be treated to a very informative and interesting presentation. 

The August speaker was Paul Daly Superintendent of the WA Police Airwing who gave us an insightful presentation on the “Eyes in the Air”. As well as fixed wing aircraft the force have military high grade helicopters which have cameras that can film up to a distance of 20 kilometres as well as high tech Drones. 

Next month, we have the return of Peter Kennedy who will be speaking on the subject of previous state premieres.  Before retirement Peter was the political journalist for the west Australian newspaper and the ABC state political reporter for news. In 1995 Peter was awarded the Clarion Prize at the WA Media Awards. He has written “Tales From Boom Town”, a book about the Premiers of Western Australia.
