COMMITTEE 2024/2025

 

President – Uma Smiley 

The main role of the President is to provide leadership and direction to the Management Committee to ensure the Club embodies the true spirit of Probus – friendship, fellowship and fun. The President also chairs Annual and General meetings & Committee meetings.


Vice President - Michael Hearn 

The main role of the President Elect is to assist the President in providing leadership and direction to the Management Committee to ensure the Club embodies the true spirit of Probus – friendship, fellowship and fun.


Ex-Officio - Jill Luttin 

After serving as Vice President and President, the now immediate past President supports the President and Vice President as required, helps to prepare funding requirements for City of Melbourne Grants as well as general committee matters 

 

Secretary – Rob Head

The main role of the Secretary is to support the President to ensure the Management Committee functions smoothly. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted, maintaining up-to-date records and being the key point of contact for the Club. Also organizing the monthly Club calendar and any communications to all Members.

 

Treasurer – Bruce Truelove

The main role of the Treasurer is to ensure that clear and accurate financial records are maintained and that all funds are accounted for. It is not essential to have accountancy qualifications however, it is desirable that the Treasurer be familiar with bookkeeping and banking procedures.

 

Membership Secretary – Clare Leggatt

The role of the Membership Secretary is to naintain detail of current members and to welcome prospective members to the club. In addition the secretary is responsible for keeping track of who attends the various General Meetings.

 

Web Administrator – Michael Hearn

The role of the Web Adminstrator is to maintain the Carlton Gardens Probu Club web site. Agendas and Minutes of both General Meetings and Committee meetings are uploaded to the web site for members to view. Various pages are available for members viewing such as a Welcome page for prospective members, Contact details, Member contact details (password protected) and information on Activities. The site is easy to maintain using basic functionality provided by Probus South Pacific.

 

Assistant Secretary/General Member 1 - Naomi Raab

 

This role entails  preparing the agenda for General Meetings and then writing up the Minutes of those meetings.  The Assistant Secretary takes part in the Management Committee, and its discussions around issues for the club. The role works closely with the Secretary and also involves interactions with other Committee members to check details.

 

General Member 2 - Noelene Morrissey 

The primary role of a General Member is to assist the President and Committee with setting and achieving, all their goals.
