South Pacific
22 Nov 2013
After two and a half years of sold out shows worldwide, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific is heading to Perth.
A fresh take on the iconic musical, which was first performed on Broadway April 7 1949, Director Bartlett Sher has certainly made the production his own.
Since 2008, South Pacific has won seven Tony Awards and earned the accolade of highest selling show ever performed at the Sydney Opera House.
The production features a standout cast, with Lisa McCune as Nellie, celebrated baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes as Emile and Christine Anu as Bloody Mary.
The score is brought to life by the Perth Symphony Orchestra, which superbly delivers classics such as Some Enchanted Evening, There is Nothin’ Like a Dame and Younger than Springtime.
Not to be missed, South Pacific has been and will continue to be talked about for years to come.
