This year, from 25 November to 3 December, the Great Vic returns with its promise of camaraderie, picturesque Victorian landscapes and an unforgettable experience for both riders and volunteers alike.

The Great Vic 2023 offers the unique opportunity to join as a volunteer and be part of this fantastic nine-day journey from Orbost to Wonthaggi, experiencing the best of Gippsland. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or simply love the idea of travelling through breathtaking regions, this volunteering experience is bound to be fulfilling.

As a volunteer, you’ll be taken care of with free transport, meals and accommodation throughout the event. Each day, you’ll travel to a new town, set up camp and support up to 3,000 riders as they take on the route. The Great Vic route is carefully designed to showcase some of the most beautiful parts of Victoria, allowing you to witness the splendour of tranquil and inviting regional towns.

Riding – rediscover the joy of cycling

For the first time in over 25 years, the Great Vic returns to Orbost as the starting point for the thrilling adventure of 2023. The route takes you alongside the mesmerising Snowy River and through Gippsland’s breathtaking regions, where you’ll be enchanted by the sea air as you ride toward Wonthaggi.

Every day presents a new riding goal, giving you the freedom to take on the challenges at your own pace. After a day of cycling, you’ll roll into the heart of each town and set up camp, where you can revel in an afternoon and evening of entertainment, activities, and the warm hospitality that only regional towns can offer.

There are various options including three, five, and nine-day packages starting from just $138 per day. Indulge in a week of unforgettable experiences and immerse yourself in another world. E-bikes are also welcome, ensuring that everyone can participate and enjoy the ride.
