Despite a cold, wet start to winter, members of the Renmark Ladies Probus turned out in great numbers to celebrate the club’s 39th birthday and Probus Australia’s 50th anniversary at the Paringa Hotel. President Maureen welcomed members and reflected on the origins of Probus, while the festive atmosphere was enhanced by beautifully decorated tables featuring Probus blue and gold balloons, chocolates generously supplied by PSPL, and delightful handmade flower lolies.
Members enjoyed testing their knowledge in a lively true-or-false quiz, while a lucky dip added to the fun, with many taking home prizes. A special highlight of the celebration was the presentation of 20-year service certificates to Jenny Twyford, Evie Richards and Pam Wheeler in recognition of their longstanding commitment and valued contributions to the Renmark Ladies Probus Club. The celebrations concluded with Life Members Joy Checker and Jenny Twyford cutting a cake celebrating both the club’s 39th birthday and Probus Australia’s 50th anniversary, before it was shared among members as a fitting end to a memorable afternoon of friendship, fellowship and celebration.
