Lucy Culliton, Caution Wet Paint
Multi-award-winning artist Lucy Culliton’s latest exhibition, Caution Wet Paint celebrates her love of nature, animals and Australian landscapes.
In 2016 Lucy Culliton was the first female artist to be hung in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes simultaneously, and her work is part of some of Australia’s most prominent pubic collections, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Australia, Queensland University Art Museum and the New South Wales Parliament Collection.

Great Alpine Arts Trail
Every May the Great Alpine Road is transformed into a bustling arts trail, featuring gallery tours, open studios, arts and crafts market stalls as well as food and wine tastings. Workshops this year include Indigenous Basketry with esteemed artist Cassie Leatham, Cath Rayment will be teaching the art of natural dyeing and Sarah Carr will be helping attendees create their own fabrics using needle felting.
The trip can be done in one day, or alternatively, visitors can stay at one of the many accommodation places along the way, and enjoy a weekend of arts, culture and nature. When: 5 – 6 May

Biggest Afternoon Tea Fundraiser
The Cancer Council NT is inviting NT residents to join them for canapés, champagne, tea and music to help raise money to help fund their wonderful work.
The garden party will include live entertainment from the Australian Army Band, as well as a silent auction.

Australian Piano Duo: If music be the food of love, play on
Internationally acclaimed piano duo, Dr Vicky Yang and Maggie Chen are taking to the stage of the High Court of Australia’s Great Hall for what promises to be an entirely enchanting performance.
The performance will include interludes from Romeo and Juliet, oriental folk fairy tales and more, and is the duo’s final performance in Australia before they begin an international tour.

Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Divided Worlds
Australia’s longest running survey of contemporary art returns in 2018 with thirty cutting edge Australian artists and collectives. Through a variety of different mediums including photography, painting, sculpture, and moving images, artists will explore the role that art can play in uniting a divided world.
The biennale will extend across a range of venues within Adelaide’s cultural precinct, including the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide Botanic Gardens and JamFactory. It promises to be one of the most exciting cultural events of the year.

BBC Planet Earth II: Live in Concert
An upcoming screening of the Sir David Attenborough’s acclaimed documentary, BBC Planet Earth II, will be brought to life with a live orchestral accompaniment led by conductor Vanessa Scammell.
The documentary, which is a follow up to Planet Earth was widely acclaimed for bringing some of the most insightful and visually striking imagery of animals and landscapes from around the world. This groundbreaking footage is enhanced by the score from legendary composer, Hans Zimmer along with Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe.

Autumn Spectacular
Enjoy Tasmania’s famous Autumnal colours at the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden. The garden houses Maples, Conifers, Oaks and Elms, which boast particularly beautiful leaves in the autumn.

This Is My Heritage
A new exhibition offers a different, more personal interpretation of the Queensland
Museum’s collection of Indigenous artifacts and objects.
Twelve of Queensland’s most prominent Indigenous artists and educators have come together to outline the way in which they relate to the objects in the museum, drawing on their personal memories to explain the spiritual link between people, objects and history. When: Now – 30 May
