Functions.

We have had some very successful events since the last newsletter.

International dinners on the 2nd Thursday of the month is something we have implemented. So far the dinners have been a success and we are still looking for suggestions of places to go to.

If you have any suggestions for a restaurant please contact Lyn McDonald or Kathy Burbidge.

September will be Mexican.

June was Greek and held at Kuzina in Eltham. Those who attended had a good night.

July’s dinner was at Nardee in Warrandyte, and it was also a great night.

August took us to Warrandyte Bridge café for a Persian dinner. We had the restaurant to ourselves, and the food was sensational.

Activities

The tour of the Carlton and United Breweries on 18th June was well attended and enjoyed by everyone.

Christmas in July luncheon was at Sky-high restaurant Mt Dandenong. It was well attended, and we all had a fun afternoon. There was another Probus Club there – Templestowe Lower and they had 71 members of their club attending. Their club has 150 members.

On the 13th of August a group had a tour of The Domaine Retirement village in Doncaster. It was well attended, and we were given a tour of the facilities plus morning tea after. A lovely place to consider if your current situation is getting too much for you.

Karralyka

The Karralyka sessions have attracted various members and the shows have been great.

We do need to pay for the sessions 8 weeks in advance as this secures our seats. Therefore we ask for you to put your hand up early and pay straight away.

The next session is 16th September. Those were the days. The ladies of the British Invasion.

Feedback.

I would like some feedback regarding our newsletter.

Do you like it in this format?

Do you want it as an attachment as well as in the body of the email? This maybe an issue if I have lots of photos in it.

What else would you like to see in it?

Are your gutters full of leaves?

During winter, our Manningham SES volunteers receive a large number of requests for assistance coming through for ceiling collapses.

It's not just trees and branches down, during heavy rains. When gutters are full of debris the water tends to flow to the lowest point to find an outlet - usually through the ceiling, unfortunately.

We have put together this reminder to ensure your home and businesses are storm ready and hopefully not impacted by heavy rains.

If you need storm emergency assistance, call us on 132 500, 24hrs a day 365 days a year, or if life-threatening, call Triple Zero (000).

You can find out more ways to be prepared and Storm Safe here
