You may ask Members if they wish to use your spot and work out a payment arrangement that suits you both.
We have a separate program of Interest Groups and more details can be found on the Calendar page.

Optional Joint Club Short Holiday
Thursday 1st May Dunlace Castle
Introduction
For those of you, who like me, had previously never heard of Dunlace Castle, it is a grand old house in Brighton. Perhaps not as grand as Carrick Hill, but never the less quite impressive. Its design is based on a wing of the Dunlace Castle in Northern Ireland. You can Google it, but specify Brighton, the other one is a bit far.

Also please indicate if you would like to be included in a car pool, or if you are able to supply seats in a car pool.

The Planetarium Thursday October 6
The Planetarium outing proved to be a very interesting and unique experience. Approximately 17 members ventured out to Mawson Lake UniSA Campus to take the opportunity of viewing the night sky without clouds sitting in recliner chairs in a domed room. Our guide, who was very knowledgeable about astronomy was both interesting and thought provoking.
We experienced the night time sky for that evening from sunset to sunrise with the guide pointing out interesting star formations, planets near earth and he raised the issue of light pollution affecting our ability to view stars at night in built up areas. We then viewed a short film on the Sun.
You may not be aware that the Planetarium at Mawson Lakes was one of the first to be built in the Southern Hemisphere.
Afterwards we ventured south and had lunch at the Junction Bar and Bistro. Another interesting outing!!
Seacliff/Kingston Park Heritage Walk & Lunch Thursday September 8
We will meet outside the Brighton Seacliff Yacht Club ready to leave at 10:00AM. The walk will take about 1 hour. Please wear suitable shoes and clothes.
Lead and commentary will be by Vicki Porter using material sourced from the City of Holdfast Bay.
You can turn up last minute for the walking part of this Outing, but Vicki would like to know if you are coming to walk. That way she can contact you if weather is bad for alternative arrangements.
There is a lunch option, which is at the Marino Rocks Community Café. Vicki needs a firm commitment for the lunch option. Please let her know ASAP if you wish to have lunch. She must know by Tuesday 30th August if you are taking up this option.
If you haven’t already done so, could you please contact Vicki
NOTE: If it is raining watch for a last minute SMS.
Day Trip to Port Adelaide Thursday August 4
Please meet at the Seacliff Railway Station at 9 am where we will catch the train into the city and then out to Port Adelaide. On arrival in Port Adelaide participants can decide whether to stay altogether or break off into groups depending on personal interests. The Aviation Museum, the National Railway Museum and the Maritime Museum are all on Lipson St so I suggest we make our way there.
We will all meet for lunch at 12:30 at the Lighthouse Wharf Hotel. From the Railway Station all of the above are within 10 - 15 minute walk so a relatively easy walk.
When we’ve had enough we can make our way back to the Railway Station and head for home! I’m looking forward to it and hoping for decent weather!!
July 7th Annual Winery Tour
This is the Club's annual winery tour and this year we retrun to the Southern Vale’s. Twenty of our members boarded the bus to take us on our Winery Tour Thursday July 7. Our first tasting was at Serafino Winery. We arrived early but were quickly settled and enjoyed a leisurely tasting of their wines as well a brief history of Serafino which is situated on the original Andrew Garret Winery grounds. We then all headed off to Woodstock for another tasting followed by a sumptuous lunch. It was a relaxed setting and I think everyone enjoyed the meal. There was a great deal of conversation and laughter during our visit. Our last visit was to Mc Carthy’s Orchard. A very different setting to our previous two experiences. The bus pulled into what looked like a couple of old sheds and an outside seating area. We all headed indoors for the warmth of the fire to be greeted by wandering chooks!!! This venue proved to be a popular choice as many comments were heard, ‘this is sooo cute’ and ‘how quaint’. All in all a diverse range of winery experiences and a memorable day!!
