Hobart Convict Penitentiary Tour

6 Brisbane street Hobart  (Opposite Office Works)

Guided Tour Starts at  10.00am

Tour takes 1 ½  Hours, there are plenty of stops and  seating during the tour. Learn more about the convict history of Van Diemen’s Land. The Hobart Convict Penitentiary, or as it was known by its inhabitants, the Tench, was built in the early 1830.  Followed by Lunch at the Black Buffalo Hotel

Mona Ferry Outing

Start at Mona, catch the first ferry into town. Ferry takes 20 minutes or so. 10.30 am.

Jam Packed Cafe for Morning Tea/ Brunch

12.15pm Ferry back to Mona (ferries only every hour). There is a lift just inside the main entrance of the MONA museum which our members can use. There is also a lift at the Hobart end on Brook Street Pier Wharf as we leave the ferry. Brunch at Jam Packed is a half kilometre, 7 minute walk (stroll) from the ferry. PARKING AT MONA If you do not get there early enough to get a close parking spot at MONA and you are parked too far away from the main museum entrance and need assistance ring 6277 9900 and they will send down a large golf cart to pick you up.  Government House

‘Behind the Scenes Tour’

 10.30—11.30 am

(Stairs  involved so need to be relatively agile)

 Come along and see what makes Government House tick.

The fully guided tour will take in all of those little or never seen before

 aspects of the House - kitchen, flower room and wine cellar just to name a few.

 At the end of the tour there will be an opportunity to purchase exclusive gifts

from the Government House gift shop.

 $20.00 per person to be paid  at April meeting.

 BYO Picnic Lunch. In the Botanical Gardens.
