National Hotel Freemantle
A group of us enjoyed an excellent tour of the restored National Hotel in Freemantle on 27 February 2025. Carl, owner and manager of the hotel, gave us a comprehensive guided tour through all areas - bar, restaurant, accommodation, rooftop bar, stairwell and artworks. He told us of the history of the building, with many interesting stories, as well as explaining about the works required to renovate it to heritage standard after it had been reduced to ashes by the last of many fires. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the dining room following the tour.
