The Little Creatures brewery tour (with thanks to Lawrence Glynn)

The Little Creatures brewery tour on the 29th of May, 2025 offered a fascinating glimpse into the art and science of beer-making. While the common imagery of great steaming vats and bubbling cauldrons may ignite the imagination, the reality proved to be a sophisticated blend of stainless-steel pipes—countless in number—and advanced computer-controlled systems. What might seem like a sterile process was transformed into an engaging and informative experience, highlighting the meticulous craftsmanship behind every glass of beer.

Our tour concluded at the very spot where it began—only this time, it was transformed into a tasting haven. Guests were offered the opportunity to sample four distinct types of beer, each crafted to showcase unique characteristics and flavours. For those less inclined toward beer, other options were available, such as ginger beer, cider, or soft drinks, though the sampling experience for non-beer options was admittedly more limited. The diversity of flavours was a testament to the creativity and skill of Little Creatures' brewing team.

The tour seamlessly transitioned into lunch, where the beverages accompanied the meal in perfect harmony. The standout for me was the margarita pizza—arguably one of the best I’ve ever had. The thin, crispy crust, coupled with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil, created a symphony of flavors that paired beautifully with the beers. Around the table, the sentiment was unanimous; whether indulging in pizzas, burgers, or salads, everyone seemed equally impressed by the culinary offerings.
