TRIP TO BALLARAT TROTTING CLUB MEETING WEDNESDAY 4/3/20
The Probus Club of Colac had a trip to Bray Raceway on 4/3/20. 58 members and their guests travelled to Ballarat to witness a nine card event which included the Colac Probus Club Trot Race 6 won by rank outsider Flash Boy and the Malcolm Hallyburton Memorial Pace Race 8 won by Machs Gold. Flash Boy’s win ruined the Punters Club quadrella of which many of the Probus group had invested.
Ballarat & District Trotting Club named race 6 and Race 8 to coincide with our visit and in particular Race 8 to honour our former life member and Event Organiser between 2008 and 2017 the late Malcolm Hallyburton. Malcolm took 8 busloads of 50+ to Bray raceway in his time as Events Organiser. His wife Barbara, daughter Jenny Wallace and partner Trevor Farnsworth, Malcolm’s sisters Dorothy and Isabel and Malcolm’s close friends Mark and Leah Jacob were part of the Probus contingent on the night.
