From the President,

Happy new year to all. I hope that you had a safe and joyous Xmas shared with family and friends.

At the December meeting the club formally adopted the new constitution. A special thanks to all those involved behind the scenes that enabled the adoption process to run smoothly.

We will have in March our AGM at which the year will be reviewed, the committee for 2026 sworn in, budget and fees for 2026 agreed, new standing resolutions presented for adoption and plans for the club going forward outlined. The AGM will be held at the conclusion of the regular March meeting. Please make a special effort to attend.

I urge you all to consider your availability to serve on the committee. We have some vacancies and actively seek expressions of interest. Convenors to take responsibility for a designated type of activity are also being sought.

Last year a review was conducted on the scope of outings and activities that would be suitable for the club.  An Opal card day outing was trialled in November, along with the introduction of a 500 card playing group. Both are being supported and will again be offered this year. It is expected that opal days will be quarterly. We would like also to introduce theatre, movie outings and coffee mornings. For this to happen we need people to take responsibility for their organisation. Monthly day trips, excursions and outings will continue to take place as appropriate.

I look forward to being able to continue to deliver activities that provide fun and friendship and provide opportunities for everyone to stay engaged, connected and active.
