Celebrate the year of the monkey
During Chinese New Year, the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour will host a beautiful night of chamber music performed by musicians from China, who will collaborate with local artists on stage.

An afternoon at the movies
The National Portrait Gallery is hosting a free screening of French movie, Lola Montes this month (with subtitles). Know as the most expensive European film ever made, it tells the scandalous tale of the real-life celebrated Irish dancer. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
