International Rose Garden Festival Morwell
16-17 November, 2019
Morwell Centenary Rose Garden, Morwell
The 2019 International Rose Garden Festival (IRGFM) is building on the success of the 2018 event, to expand across two days, presenting a weekend Festival full of family-friendly activities and some new and exciting additions.
The weekend of Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November sees day one featuring free children and family activities, workshops, market stalls, a live beehive and product displays, food vans, roving entertainment and live music.
ABC Gardening Australia host and Logie winner, Costa, is back. He will be presenting a talk and a Q&A session where people will get the chance to ask him their prickly gardening questions!
For the kiddies, Costa’s friend DIRTGIRL will be performing the Grubby Bucket Show live, a 30-minute on-stage singalong on sustainability and bees. DIRTGIRL and Costa the garden gnome select themes, ideas, challenges, quizzes and songs from their grubby bucket in a planet-positive interactive performance that sends families home with things to do today that will positively impact the planet.
New to the program is day two, which will be a food and wine experience amongst the roses introducing a rosé wine tasting, artisan products on show and for sampling, and all in and around the ambience of the garden setting. Event organisers are very excited to be able to include a food and wine component at this year’s event, which showcases the amazing produce from the Gippsland region.
Also new to the festival is a night light installation in the rose garden, “A Midsummer Night’s Lights”, on the Saturday night from 6:30pm to 10pm. Entry is free all weekend.
