Celebrating the roaring 20s
25 Jan 2013
Polish your pearls, pop on your fedora and get ready to celebrate roaring 20s style as the Roaring 20’s Festival takes over the Blue Mountains.
The annual Roaring 20’s Festival and all that Jazz in the Blue Mountains kicks off in February, celebrating the by-gone days of the region.
With some of Australia’s finest mansions and grand hotels in the region, you can still catch a glimpse of the indulgent world in many of the buildings today.
Festival director Sandy Luxford said the Roaring 20’s Festival pays homage to the decade when the region cut loose in an endless round of hedonism – sumptuous architecture, costume balls and high teas, dancing and jazz music.
A boom time in the region, the Festival celebrates the current 1920s flavour and the history of the region, while also enjoying the modern architecture.
The Festival features high teas, jazz performances, historical walks and so much more and highlights include the Grand Art Deco Ball, and the Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair.
