West Pennant Hills Combined Probus Club History
The club was established at the foundation meeting held at the West Pennant Hills Valley Community Centre on 3rd June 2003 with seeding capital from West Pennant Hills Rotary Club. It was a Rotary Community Service project.
The club became incorporated on 9th September 2003 as a combined club (ie. full membership available to men and women). As Probus is mainly for the benefit of retirees, it was felt that the area needed another combined club primarily for residents of The Hills and Hornsby Shire.
There were 120 foundation members and because of demand a significant waiting list was created. Membership was subsequently increased to 160 with an ongoing waiting list. From inception, activity groups were quickly established, this creating a vibrant club with great popularity in the district.
