About Willoughby North Probus Club
Willoughby North Probus Club had its fledgling beginnings in a local dog park. A group of devoted dog owners identified the need for a new Probus Club in the Willoughby North area. An energetic inaugural Committee was formed and the Club had its foundation meeting at the Willoughby Uniting Church on 20 March 2019 with 25 foundation members. The Club had a successful start and by November 2019 had grown to 47 members.
At the Club's first anniversary on 20 March 2020, membership had grown to 54 members. Despite the implementation of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, most members renewed their membership. The Committee continued running meetings and some other social activities via Zoom until face-to-face meetings were able to recommence once pandemic restrictions were lifted. In March 2024, the 5 year anniversary of the Club was celebrated and our membership continues to grow.
Willoughby North Probus Club, like all Probus Clubs, is non-political and non-sectarian. We do not do fund raising and are not-for-profit. The aim is to operate at a minimum cost to members. Our Club is operated by a Committee which is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in March each year. The President serves for one year only, but other Committee members may serve for longer periods. Details of our regular meeting held on the third Wednesday of the month, can be found on the meetings tab.
