About Us

The Combined Probus Club of Plenty Inc., has a membership ceiling of 120 members.  We currently have 102 financial members and consequently there is no waitlist for retired or semi-retired men and women who are interested in joining our Club.    

Our Club meets on the fourth Thursday of the Month (January-November inclusive) at 10.00am at the Greensborough RSL and welcome visitors to our meetings.  We encourage member participation in meetings and activities and especially involvement on the management committee so that our club continues to offer fresh ideas and activities for our membership to enjoy. 

Our monthly newsletter, Pipeline, provides information to our members of club news and activities, member contributions, as well as other matters of interest – refer to the “Pipeline” tab for current and past copies.

Since the founding of the Club in 2007 members have enjoyed guest speakers at our monthly general meetings, covering a wide and interesting spectrum of topics.  The Social Comittee has provided, and continues to provide, activities including picnics, theatre, concerts, lunches, dinners, movie days, bus trips, short trips, interstate and international trips, walking tours, morning and afternoon teas, card groups, lawn bowls and golf days. 

2020 and 2021 brought on many challenges for us all with the Covid-19 pandemic.  Whilst for much of that time we were not able to engage in social activities or meetings, our club continued to keep its members involved, with regular communication from the committee, our Pipeline newsletter, PSPL Staying Connected Newsletters and other e-newsletters.   Prior to being able to meet physically again, we held committee meetings, general meetings and our AGM on Zoom, and enjoyed some morning teas and picnics, etc., whenever restrictions would permit. 

Most of our planned activities throughout that period had to be cancelled because of lockdowns.  We continue to stay positive and plan ahead.  We have some exciting activities scheduled for this year and all hope that with increased vaccinations we can safely get back to enjoying our Probus Fun, Friendship and Fellowship.
