26th March, Western Sydney Airport, Travelling by Coolarburoo Neighbourhood Centre bus at a cost of $15.

Those travelling must become a member of Cooolarboroo at a cost of $5 per year.

Wednesday, 10th July Christmas in July. travelling to Gledswood Winery for an enjoyable traditional Christmas lunch and entertainment.

Second Tuesday of each month, we gather together for a lunch at a local hotel or club.

Train to Woy Woy Station, 2 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf for 10.45am ferry to Brisbane Waters. Courtesy bus to Davistown RSL for lunch.  Return bus at 1.15 or 2.15  to ferry then train back to Sydney.  See Tony for details.

7 members and 2 guests had a very informative guided tour of the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park. Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the history of the memorial, the why, when and wherefore's of its construction as well as the contents of the displays.  Coffee and cake for some at the Naked Duck across the road then some continued spending time in the city whilst others took a stroll through the park to St James and train home.  Beautiful autumn sunshiniy day enjoyed by one and all.

Watson Bay for fish n chips in the park

We met at Revesby station and Padstow station for the 10.02 train to Circular Quay. Caught the ferry from wharf 2 to Watson Bay.  Some brought their lunch and some had fish n chips from Doyles take away - a few had a glass of wine to wash it all down. A couple went to the pub for a cold beer.  A walk up to the gap to see see the view and watch a few boats sailing by.  Nice view of the city skyline and harbour bridge. A sit around the table in the park, some enjoying an icecream before catching the ferry and then train back home.  A very enjoyable day out for all members and visitors who attended - 17 in all.

Watson’s Bay for fish ‘n chips

Train to Circular Quay, ferry to Watson’s Bay.

Train Revesby  10.17 am  Padstow 10.20 am arrive Circular Quay 11.02 am

Ferry Wharf 2 side B  -leave every 30 minutes 17mins past the hour / 47 mins to the hour  

Lunch in Robertson Park – take away at Doyles or bring your own.  For those who like a stroll take a 300 metre walk to the Gap Lookout.

1)TANGLIN LODGE ALPACAS - FRIDAY 13TH MARCH 2020

Enjoy a day at this Alpaca farm with Devonshire Tea and interesting talk about the Alpacas.  There is also a gift shop on site selling Alpaca products.  Then travel to Tate’s Hawkesbury Hotel for lunch.  They have $12 lunch specials.  Coach departs Playford Park at 8.00 am.  Cost $55, which includes coach, entry and morning tea. Lunch at own expense.   

2) VIVID 2020­­­ -WEDNESDAY 3RD JUNE 2020

The tour takes in the seven bridges, a progressive dinner with champagne and nibbles at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and the main course at Paddington RSL, concluding with tea, coffee, port and cake under the bridge at Kirribilli.  There will be plenty of time to explore the waterfront on foot around Circular Quay.  We will depart from Playford Park at 2.00 pm arriving back at approximately 10.30 pm.  Cost $83, inclusive.

Tuesday 25 February, 2020 - Parramatta Rivercat - Bus back to Padstow - Lunch at River Canyon Restaurant – Parramatta

Take the train to Circular Quay, Ferry to Parramatta.

Short 2 minute walk to the restaurant – Australian meals and vegetarian meals as well as middle eastern food.

There is a 750 – 800 metre walk to the bus depot to catch the bus back to Padstow.

Cost $2.50 opal card   Lunch at your own expense – between $10.00 and $25.00

The ferry to Parramatta leaves every hour at 7 minutes past. The restaurant opens at 11.30am.

                       Padstow goes at 9.20 arrives at the Quay at 10.02 gives you 5 minutes to get to the ferry.

Return home     Bus  M92 from Stand A2 or M91 from B1  Parramatta Station - leave every 10 minutes or so.

Tuesday 19th November Botanical Gardens - Choo Choo Express

Cost $5.00 payable at the November meeting and the Choo Choo Express cost $5.00 for senior card holders.

The Choo Choo express entrance fee is payable at the Queen Elizabeth 11 gate entrance (near the Opera House). 

All stations train from Revesby – 9.32 am  Padstow    9.35 am  arriving at Circular Quay at 10.17 am. We will be upstairs in the second carriage from the front  

Warning:  At Circular Quay the train does not stay at the platform for very long so please make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get off the train. Take the nearest flight of stairs otherwise check both flights to see which is the least congested.  

The Choo Choo Express starts at 10.00 am and has a 25 minute duration. It runs every 30 minutes (unless it is raining).

A coffee stop for those that want then it is a slow stroll (about 600 m) to Queen Elizabeth II gate, near the Opera House to catch the next available express. Tickets are purchased here at a cost of $5.00 for seniors or $10.00 non senior’s card.

The Palm Grove Centre is a drop off and pick up (if there is space) stage.  It has the Visitor Centre and Garden Shop, conveniences and dining or take away services.

Busby’s Bar further along has a drop off only and has food and drinks with views of Farm Cove and therefore, may be expensive.

If you prefer, you may wander off on your own and make the return journey at your leisure.

Otherwise the return journey will be:  Train from Circular Quay All stations train leaving at 14.45pm arriving at Padstow at 15.27 and  Revesby at 15.30pm

Tuesday 15TH OCTOBER 2019  Holsworthy Army Barracks.

Cost $5.00 payable at the 1 October meeting - unless you have notified Lorraine Boland this event is closed as strict rules apply to entering the army barracks.

We will be catching the train to Holsworthy and will sit upstairs in the 2nd carriage from the front  (the Holsworthy train front is the opposite end of the platform to the front of the city trains).

TRAIN FROM PADSTOW - CHANGE AT REVESBY

10.12 AM train from Padstow, disembarking at Revesby at 10.15 on platform 3 to change to the Holsworthy train.  The Holsworthy train departs from platform 4 so just cross over the platform – no need to go up and down stairs or lifts.

REVESBY

10.25AM train from Revesby  from platform 4 to arrive at Holsworthy at 10.33AM. Holsworthy is the 3rd stop.  

 Once at Holsworthy we need to wait for permission to enter the army barracks. 

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR PHOTO ID WITH YOU OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE BARRACKS.
