Brisbane City Council's Growing Old Living Dangerously (GOLD) Program

As we approach our new Club year, I believe the Brisbane City Council's Growing Old Living Dangerously (GOLD) Program may be of interest. Most activities are either free or at a low cost and may assist with your Club’s activity planning.

The GOLD Program invites us all to explore a variety of options and is a great opportunity for us all to stay active, learn new skills, and connect with the others in our local community, which is what Probus is all about.

Highlights include:

  • Fitness Classes: Yoga, tai chi, and water aerobics.
  • Creative Workshops: Arts and crafts sessions for all skill levels.
  • Educational Workshops: Topics like computer skills, gardening, and cooking.
  • Outdoor Activities: Guided walks, bird watching, and canoeing.
  • Social and Special Events: Regular meetups and festive celebrations

The GOLD Program can be downloaded by clicking here

The Woodworks Museum officially received its name at the grand opening on March 23rd 1984. It was established to provide a refuge for the history of the forest and timber industries. Built in 1984 as a joint venture between what was then known as the Department of Forestry and the Queensland Museum, its development was largely due to continuing concern by forestry officers for preservation of the artifacts and traditions associated with: forest development and conservation, production and distribution of timber, and timber products.
