Introducing Bacchus Marsh . . .

is a rural centre and regional locality in Victoria, Australia located approximately 57 kilometres (40 mls) north west of the state capital Melbourne and 15 kilometres (9 miles) west of Melton and is close to the major cities of Ballarat and Geelong. The population of the Bacchus Marsh urban area was 20,992 at June 2016. Bacchus Marsh is the largest rural area in the local council https://www.moorabool.vic.gov.au/

The pride of the residents is the beautiful Avenue of Honour and its strong community spirit.  The trees were planted to honour the servicemen who went off to the great war (WW1). The trees were planted in 1918

There are many market gardens in the area that grow fruit and vegetables with some owners having their own roadside produce stores. On the 3rd weekend in November Bacchus Marsh invites the public to the very popular Strawberry and Cherry Festival when people can pick their own strawberries and cherries.  Bacchus Marsh also celebrates the apple picking season by having a Harvest Festival on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend when the public can also pick their own fruit.
