Piscatorial Pursuers success
18 Oct 2013
Anticipating some action, the finger touches the line, it feels a slight vibration, adrenalin pumps, will it or won’t it?
The rod tip bends sharply, yes it is hooked and a member of the Piscatorial Pursuers Interest Group, reels in a fish.
Thanks to the generosity of Peter Newmarch, member and boat owner of the Unley Probus Club, five members of the group are able to participate in an offshore fishing outing each time Peter considers tide and weather are suitable.
An early awakening does not deter members of the group who are happy to be at the boat ramp at 7:30am and eagerly look forward to the outing.
This Interest Group, one of nine at Unley, was formed after IPP Maree Schaefer noted that there were a number of fisher people in the club, and spoke to Peter.
He agreed to coordinate the group, comprising both men and women.
On some outings it is the fun, excitement and fellowship which are remembered, rather than the fish caught or lack thereof, but who knows what will be lifted from the depths below. On this outing rod tips bent many times and smiles were the norm.
