35-year anniversary

The Diamond Valley Probus Club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 22 March was the perfect time to celebrate 35 years of Fun, Friendship and Fellowship.

Members created a festive atmosphere with balloons, their best smiles and a delicious cake.  The oldest members who are in their mid to late 90s were sent a card thanking them for their participation over the years. Probus is a Community Service Activity of Rotary clubs, and members were honoured to have the President of the Banyule Rotary Club to join them and present a Certificate of Appreciation.

The Club is proud to have been the first in the area to include men and women at its meetings. For some, the monthly meetings and group activities have been the highlight of the month. Many strong friendships have formed. Trips and tours are popular, along with various interest groups and social outings supporting local restaurants. And members are kept informed via a monthly newsletter. During Covid, the Club was able to stay connected via Zoom meetings and sharing of jokes and YouTube clips, and these have continued.
