Mooroopna Probus Club foundation member turns 100
17 Mar 2016
Mooroopna Probus Club foundation member Frank Faulkner turned 100 on January 20th.
Frank Faulkner is a foundation member of the Probus Club of Mooroopna in Victoria having joined together with his late wife Margaret when the Club was first formed on 10th August 1992.
Both Frank and Margaret were awarded Rotary Internationals highest honour of a Paul Harris Fellowship. Frank was a member of the inaugural Rotary committee who recommended that a Probus Club be formed in Mooroopna, such meeting being held on 1st June 1992.
Frank was honoured by the Club with a special birthday cake and framed Certificate on the occasion of his 90th Birthday. He was made a Non-Active member of the Club on 7th June 2010, when his health precluded him from regular attendance at meetings, however he still maintains a keen interest in Club activities.
Frank was Secretary of the Mooroopna and District Base Hospital for many, many years until it was transferred to Shepparton. He is very proud of his record of not having had a sick day off work in all those years, a great achievement. Frank and Margaret are parents to eight children all of whom are still living. Frank was an avid golfer (living across the road from the Golf Course helped!) until recently when he was admitted to hostel accommodation in Mooroopna where he is a very special resident.
