Our club commenced operation in November, 2002. Its foundation as a mixed gender club was sponsored by the Umina Rotary Club. By January, 2003, it boasted 71 members and 4 of our foundation members are still actively engaged with the club. By March of 2003 the membership had risen to 100, well on its way to the current maximum of 120. In her first annual report our founding president, Verna Emery, stated that "our aim is to cater for many interests and to make it a fun club for all" and in the following year she stated that she had tried to "keep the meetings simple, informal, and fun, so that the emphasis could be on fellowship". These aims have continued since those times. Since its inception our club has met on the fourth Thursday of each month, at the Everglades Country Club at Woy Woy at 10am.
