Ulladulla Probus Club reflects upon 'Probus Month'.

October 2024 was promoted by the Probus South Pacific organisation as 'Probus Month' with a focus on the social contact element that may occasionally be missing from the lives of retired and aged persons. The recent monthly meeting of the Ulladulla and Districts Probus Club focused on fellowship, friendship, and fun for retired persons and attempted to provide a significant source of social interaction for active retirees in Ulladulla and the surrounding districts. A schedule of activities for club members is diverse and comprises a combination of walks, BBQs and a Christmas Party for the club, which will take place in mid-December.

The main speaker at the monthly meeting was Raylene Steel, who assists clients at the local Service New Wales office in Ulladulla. Raylene outlined many concessions and savings available to aged persons and working individuals, including NSW and Commonwealth Government-provided programs. She encouraged members of the public to acquaint themselves with the available range of options and seek a face-to-face meeting to have these identified.

The forthcoming November monthly meeting for the club will be on Friday, 8th November, and will be held at the Ulladulla Bowling Club's upstairs meeting room (9.30 am). Morning tea will be provided. Prospective new members are welcome and may attend without prior notice. They are likely to be specifically welcomed during the meeting.
