Past Outings
These are some of the places the club has been to.
Christmas in July at the Woodchoppers in Mudgeeraba. A good meal and as always, it is nice to get together.
Putt Putt golf at Mermaid beach. You would think we were all a bit to old for this but no we had a great time and then afterwards a meal at the Burleigh club.
Games day at Mermaid Community centre. This is new to the club but is becoming very popular now that people have found out it is just fun and not a competition.
Hop on Hop off ferry around the waters of surfers with a meal half way round at the Marinar Mirage ( very posh ). We all had to wear masks on the ferry which made us all look like bandits or pirates.
The local War Museum with a lunch at a local restaurant called The Barn. Right by the stream and the chickens!.
Our trip to Stradbroke Island was deferred, so we went to the Hinze Dam which is run by one of our members or should I say his wife runs the place. Good fresh cooked meals and lovely views.
We always have a Christmas meal ( the Christmas in December). The last one was at the Palmer Colonial golf club and before that at Talli golf club. Always a good time for a get together with a bit of dressing up.
Another annual event to start the year is our picnic in Cascade gardens. Where members bring everything including chairs. A good time to find out how our Christmases went.
We have had a successful 3 day trips away to Malany. This went very well and the coach driver knew all the good places to visit. The evening were a bit boozey. Great.
Bare Foot bowling at Mudgeeraba bowls club. This get us a bit of exercise and fun, it is funny how competitive some people can be?. The club put on a meal for us. A good mornin with no heart attacks.
Royal Queensland Art Gallery. They put on a morning tea for us and a chance to look around the art work with only us there, it helps to have contacts in the club.
