RED HILL-ITHACA PROBUS CLUB Calendar of activities for 2025
2025 Regular gatherings:
a) General Meetings – 2nd Thursdays of the month
b) Dine-outs - 4th Thursdays of the month
c) Red Hill-Ithaca Probus Club will plan local activities on the 1st or 3rd Thursdays where possible. (Activities such as picnics/bbq’s, CityCat trips/walks, local tours using own car, bus or train).
d) Other activities/bus trips will be advertised to members at various times but will generally be attended by a small number of members. There are set dates and days for some activities, but for other events there are no set dates or days and may involve joining with other Clubs/groups. (Activities included: Cards; Poetry; City Hall concerts; Bus trips; Cultural activities).
All activities/trips will be approved by the Management Committee and coordinated by the Activities Coordinator (others may take a lead for some events). Details will be advertised through the Newsletter and at meetings. All events, for Insurance purposes, will be acknowledged by the Management Committee as a Club activity.

Lord Mayor’s Seniors Concerts – City Hall - Tuesdays 12.00pm – 1pm . No bookings needed. Free.

Possible EXTRA GATHERINGS and SHARING when arranged
1. Every Tuesday free Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts 12noon – 1pm
The concerts will be advertised in the Red Hill-Ithaca Probus Newsletter each month.
Link up with a friend or Probus member and attend together – suggestion is to meet any other members attending by sitting towards the front of the auditorium on the lefthand side.
2. Theatre/Movie-going
At a general meeting ask the Secretary to announce details of the event you’d like to attend with any other interested Club members. Those interested could meet and make arrangements after the meeting.
3. Members’ Interest talks – 10-15 mins
Tell your story about your life experiences – childhood/adult/family/work/addresses, your hobbies and interests, or your travels…
If you would like to volunteer or be assisted by being interviewed, or having someone recount your story for you, see Brian Hampton or Geoff Crane. Dates can be arranged to suit you.
4. Book sharing or Poetry Reading
A 5 minute talk about, and recommendation for, a recent book you have read. Alternatively, read a favourite poem.
If you’d like to share your readings, see Brian Hampton for a time and date at a General Meeting.
5. Activities/Cross Country Tours – Bus excursions
If numbers are not sufficient to fill a bus with our members, Lyn Perks will coordinate arrangements for those who would like to join a bus tour arranged by Cross Country Tours.
6. Cards – currently meet monthly at the Ashgrove Library – 1st Tuesday of the month 12.30 – 4.30pm
Those interested in joining the Card Group should contact Jan Wilson for details.
7. Walking Group/Coffee – This activity is not a regular occurrence at present.
Details of planned walks will be listed in the Newsletter when planned. 4 walkers are needed to proceed. Details will be in the Newsletter and advertised at a General Meeting.
