What is PROBUS?
Probus is an association of retired and semi-retired people who join together in autonomous clubs under the auspices of Probus South Pacific Limited, the national administration body located in NSW. Probus originated in the 1970's as a Rotary sponsored Community Service Project aiming to promote fun and healthy ageing in our communities.
Probus Clubs are not for profit, non-fundraising, non-sectarian and non-political. The name PROBUS is taken from the first three letters of the words PROfessional and BUSiness, but membership is not restricted to these two groups. It also embraces former executives of Government and other organisations, and may include any person who has had some meaningful responsibility in any field of endeavour.
There are always new adventures in the pipeline and if you have any ideas other members may enjoy please mention them to a committee member; they are always ready to listen. Your suggestions will enhance the club for everyone.
We welcome you and trust this information will assist you in enjoying our active and friendly Probus Club.
