ABOUT OURIMBAH PROBUS
In keeping with the aims of the wider Probus organisation, our Club encourages its members to get together with the purpose of keeping their minds and bodies active, expanding their interests and enjoying the friendship and support of new friends.
The Club was formed in 2001 under the sponsorship of the Ourimbah Rotary Club and had its inaugural meeting at the Ourimbah Campus of the University of Newcastle with 36 members present. Our first President was Keith Spark who was awarded Life Membership in 2010.
The Club’s local emblems consist of a frog and a tree which are significant in this area. The Frog is the Green and Golden Bell Frog, which is indigenous to the Ourimbah area and an endangered species. The Tree is representative of the meaning of “Ourimbah” which is an aboriginal word for a ceremonial meeting ground surrounded by tall trees.
Monthly meetings are now held at the West Gosford RSL. Meeting room is located on the 2nd floor Gallery Level Room1.
Meeting Room opens at 10am for a 10.30am start
