Newport Probus Club
About Us
Excursion to the Fullerton Hotel, ex-General Post Office on Martin Place
Our club is guided by a committee that is elected at the Annual General Meeting in March. The President serves for one year only, but other committee members may serve for longer periods.
We meet once a month at the Newport Bowling Club on the Northern Beaches. Our activities are spread over the month at various locations in the area. The Newport Probus Link newsletter on the News page provides details of the program for the month’s activities. Membership is capped at 160 largely due to the capacity limit of the Newport Bowling Club.
Probus clubs are non-political and non-sectarian. They have no fund-raising activities and are non-profit making. The aim is to operate at a minimum cost to members. Probus clubs exist to provide a social forum for like-minded retirees in their local community. There are more than 1700 clubs throughout Australia and New Zealand.
