Our Club

We are a “combined club” that welcomes both men and women members to all our meetings and activities.  Lindfield East was a men’s club for our first 25 years, and we changed to a combined club in 2017. We currently have about 85 members, one third women and two thirds men.  The proportion of ladies in our club is still growing, and our constitution allows us to reach and then hold to a 50% men and 50% women position.

Lindfield East is a smaller club in that we have set our rules to allow us to have no more than 100 members. We find that this number suits our meeting venue, and better allows us all to meet and get to know other members.

We have currently set ourselves a working limit of no more than 90 members, and we generally aim to stay a little below this number. This enables us to accept a few new members without the need to put applicants onto a waiting list.  “Locals” residing on the Sydney North Shore are preferred, but this is not a hard and fast rule and we have members residing as far afield as Lane Cove, Mosman and the Northern Beaches.

East Lindfield Probus is in a strong position financially, and we are in the fortunate position of being able to partly subsidise some of our major club events.
