The Holland Park Central Probus Club (as distinct from the Holland Park Probus Club) was established in 2008 and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carindale. It started with just 10 members and was different from the start because it did not adopt the formal format of other Probus clubs. It was a trail blazer and since then, many other clubs have adopted some of its ways of operation. 

We have as our members active retired (or semi-retired) men and women who are like-minded in avoiding too many formalities, and participating in relaxed meetings and fun outings. Our membership numbers have dropped since COVID, but we still have around 45+ members. New members are important for the health of any club and they are always warmly welcomed, as are visitors.

Our current membership fee is $40 p/a. There is a one-off joining fee of $20 and meeting fees are $13 (inclusive of morning tea).  At each meeting we are informed of up-coming activities and outings, we are entertained by a cameo talk by a member (about anything and everything), and we share a few jokes. After the morning tea break, we have a guest speaker address us.

Our principal activities are dining out, bus trips, picnics, concerts, inspection of large building projects, historical tours and coffee and chat times. All members are encouraged to offer ideas and/or help organise activities which may be of interest to other members.

Try us. Visit us at a meeting or come on an outing and see if you like us. Or just join us at our coffee mornings every first Sunday at the Pacific Golf Club. If you do like us, we ask you to join the club after three visits or activities.
