A number of small interest groups are part of all PROBUS Clubs and can be an enjoyable way of getting to know members of the overall group in a smaller and maybe less intimidating way.  These activities are normally held once a month at various locations and last an hour to two with a lot of chatting and friendship.  Listed below are our Club’s activities.  Each month a newsletter is provided at the General Meeting giving all activities for the following month and advance warning of future events.  The names and numbers of co-ordinators of all activities are listed on the newsletter but please ask any member if you need to know more

Wednesday Short Walk                      Every Wednesday

Walks commence in the Car Park at 9.30am near the Info Centre and end at Mr Franks Cafe in Frankston at about 10.10 for coffee.  If you can’t do the walk, arrive later and join in for coffee.  Walk is easy and along flat paths.


Monday Long Walk                      1st Monday of Month

Each month our co-ordinator arranges a walk on the Peninsula and we enjoy a coffee along the way or at the end.  Walk takes about 1 ½ Hours.


Happy Hour & Half                   1st Wednesday of Month

We meet in members’ homes from 5.00 - 6.30pm  BYO drinks and nibbles for a social evening.


Armchair Travel                              1st Saturday of  Month

May, July and September only  5 – 6.30 pm

Parkside Centre, The Village Baxter.  BYO drinks and nibbles and enjoy some member’s travel movies


Book Group                                  2nd Monday of Month

Frankston Library supply the books and if you enjoy reading and discussing books you will like this one.   We meet at the Baxter Village Parkside Centre 1.30pm


Dine Out (Evening)                        2nd Tuesday of Month

Everyone is welcome to come along to a hotel/restaurant in Frankston/Mornington area. We meet at the venue at 6.00pm.


Laughter Therapy                       2nd Thursday of Month

Laughter is a great medicine.  Enjoy this fantastic therapy which promotes happiness and wellbeing.

11am for 45 minutes at the Baxter Village Clarke Centre.  Enter through Gate 6


Committee Meeting                       2nd Friday of Month

10am at the Parkside Centre Baxter Village


Scrabble and Games                     3rd Tuesday of Month

This group have a way with words and meet at

2pm – 4pm Baxter Village, Manning Centre, Gate 3

for a challenge and cuppa.

General Meeting                               3rd Friday of Month

9.30 for 10.00 am start in The Baxter Village

Clarke Centre.  Enter through Gate 6.  This is our Club’s main activity and all members are expected to attend regularly.  This will replace the RSL Venue


Film Night                      Tuesday after General Meeting

We meet at either the Mornington or Karingal Cinemas. Time and film announced at the General Meeting.  We often meet for a coffee or meal before or after the movie, depending on the movie


Luncheon                                     4th Thursday of Month

Each month we meet at various venues in the Frankston-Mornington area at 12.30 pm.


Bike Ride                                           4th Friday of Month

A group enjoy a bike ride somewhere on the Peninsula.  Rides are generally over an hour or so and designed

for limited fitness, stopping for a coffee along the way.


Picnic in the Park                   Last Wednesday of Month

Held during daylight saving period only.  Pentland Gardens, Frankston, Gate 4 from 5.30pm.  

BYO Picnic and chair to enjoy a social evening.


Caravan & Cabin Trips

Twice a year usually in March and October.  We

spend 3-4 days away together, not too far away while

visiting local attractions.


Outings and Cultural Events

About once a month a special outing or cultural

event is organized or we visit a location of  interest,

an exhibition or see a play, show or musical show,

which will be in advertised in the newsletter and at the

General Meetings


Christmas Party                          3rd Friday in December

Our December General Meeting is replaced with a Christmas Party.  A great way to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and enjoy a traditional Christmas Dinner.
