Probus Tuesday 14th May OPAL Mystery Day Out. With David Tindall

Meeting to cotch the 8:58 train "where are we going" mmmmmm the Mystery begins.
23 lucky Probus members got to catch the trains to LEURA mmm nice Mountain air. Wandering down The Mall, turn left ot the corner and we found ourselves at The Teapot Museum. This was a treasure trove of lots and lots of teapots and cup and saucers. 14000 it has grown to now with 2 huge purchases and donations recently. During lunch, Jason told us of the Museum and showed us a very early teapot (works like the airpot). The teapot is to heavy to pour so you pumped the lid and out comes your tea.
Maurice, the owner, came out as well to show off a very special Chinese Teapot. It had come into his hands along with the contents of 37 other tea chests BUT this special ANCIENT teapot was not for sale. Even if London's Victoria and Albert sent an email saying "we want it, we want it, we want it"
Reversing our trip up, we arrivecl back home at 5:15. Great day out, great company, worth going back for a visit and maybe a scone or two.
Cheers Merrilee Clark
