We stepped back in time to visit the heritage-listed treasure that is Black Rock House. It was built in 1856 by Charles Ebden, Victoria's first Auditor-General. It is an intriguing historical home with its castle-style fortress walls protected by the biggest Moreton Bay Fig Ive ever seen, paint finished exterior and French wallpapers throughout the interior. The house is tastefully decorated with historical memorabilia, the guides are dressed in costume and the overall impact is quite astounding. The piece de resistance is the devonshire tea served in Tamar's Teamroom by staff in costume. What an awesome experience!
