The Rotary Club of Canberra City placed a notice in The Canberra Times newspaper on 16th February 1993 announcing an interest meeting to form the proposed Canberra Lakes Ladies Probus Club.

The inaugural meeting of the proposed club was held on 16th March in the Robertson Room, St John's Church in Reid.

The Club commended with 44 foundation members.  A foundation member is Joyce Goodman with Faye Yeatman joining later in the first year (1993).

During the first year dedicated committee members were elected.  They set up programs for Outings and Guest Speakers.  They also arranged mornings for 'Bring a Treasure' and 'Getting to Know You' providing opportunities to get to know members.
