The Rotary Club of Canberra City placed a notice in The Canberra Times on 16th February 1993 announcing an interest meeting to form the Canberra Lakes Ladies Probus Club. The inaugural meeting was held on 16th March 1993 in the Robertson Room at St John's Church in Reid.
The Club commenced with 44 foundation members. Foundation Member Joyce Goodman became the first President with Fae Yeatman joining later that first year. Soon, interest in joining this new Probus Club was high, so membership had to be limited to 65.
The club continued to meet in the Robertson Room until November 2024 when members, because of changed circumstances, agreed to change the venue to Eastlake Football Club at 3 Oxley Street, Griffith, beginning in January 2025.
