GUEST SPEAKERS
Our club invites interesting and informative guest speakers to each meeting, except for our Birthday (June) and Christmas meetings when we have live entertainment.
We aim to have a balanced programme of speakers covering a wide variety of topics: for example some of our recent speakers spoke about -
• Local and state history — profiles of prominent early settlers and the hardships endured by our early migrants.
• Government instrumentalities - Centrelink, State and Local Government programmes. Eligibility and how to gain access.
• Wills and other legal topics which may affect seniors.
• General interest subjects — building stone walls, the sinking of the Titanic, behind the camera — tales of a TV cameraman.
• PowerPoint presentations — noted photographers of birds, flowers, people and landscapes.
Many of our guest speakers have publications on their topic for sale at the meeting at a discounted price.
Of special interest is our January meeting where 3-4 club members give 15 minute presentations profiling their work history, travels around the world, family history or special activities and hobbies.
